You can always expect a warm welcoming community! Every Tuesday, we gather at 6pm which is a great social opportunity to get to know fellow members if you are new, or chat with friends if you are returning. We will open with a warm-up stretch from our friends at Diligence Training, and then get moving! There are running and walking options with group leaders positioned along the route so no runner is left behind. After our run/walk, we head to Red Rock Tavern on Capitol Ave for a complimentary meal.

No, all are welcome to run with Eight Six Go! We have both running and walking options available to accommodate all paces and faces. Join us on Heylo to complete the waiver before your first run, to RSVP for our weekly runs in the app, and to stay up to date on all current announcements/events.
-
Heylo: Download the “Heylo” app, and join “EightSixGo ” in Heylo. This is a primary platform we use for communications. We use Heylo to RSVP to our weekly runs, share announcements, highlight current events and upcoming races. We even have non-running chats, that many members use to get together outside of our Tuesday runs to explore Hartford (i.e. attend a Yard Goats game, get together for drinks after work, etc). A great tool to stay connected.
Instagram: Follow us on Instagram @eightsixgo to also stay up to date on all things 86G0! Give our partners a follow too! @redrocktavern @diligencetraining

Tuesdays | 6:00pm at the BLM Mural in Bushnell Park --
6:00pm “Gather”: This is an opportunity to get to know members if you are new, or chat with friends if you are returning!
6:25pm “Greeting”: We kick-off the night to say hello to new runners, greet returning runners, share the evenings routes, and any upcoming events. Our friends at Red Rock also use this time to explain the dinner menu.
6:30pm “Stretch”: Our weekly stretch is led by our friends at Diligence Training to ensure our bodies are warmed up.
6:35pm “Sneakers Down”: Let’s move! We split off into our 2 mile run or 1 mile walk/run groups and get moving.
7:00pm “Cool Down”: All walkers and runners return to the BLM Mural. While there is no formal cool down, you are welcome to stretch, head home or walk/commute over to Red Rock where we enjoy a complimentary dinner.
-
Street parking: Street parking is free weekdays after 6pm in Hartford. There are many street parking options around the perimeter of Bushnell Park
Park at Red Rock: We recommend parking in the free lot across from Red Rock Tavern on Capitol Ave and walking to the meeting spot. It is about a 0.5 mile walk from Red Rock -- it is a great way to warm-up and cool down. Many members opt for this and walk together to Red Rock for dinner post-run/walk.
-
Yes! We welcome all paces to our club. In addition to our 2-3 mile running option, we have a 1-mile walking option. You are welcome to run, walk or even do run/walk intervals for the 1-mile route.
-
Yes! Bring the whole family -- Mom, Dad, Baby Jojo, Grandpa Les, Falco the family dog, are all welcome.
-
We have two routes: a 2-mile running route and a 1-mile run or walk route. Our routes are subject to change throughout the year, refer to our Instagram page for the current routes.
-
Fear not -- Group leaders are positioned along the route so no runner or walker is left behind. There will always be someone in front AND in back of you.
-
We support you! Here are a few of our suggestions if you are looking to get in some extra mileage:
If you park at Red Rock Tavern, you can walk or run over to our meet-up spot, which is about 0.5 mile away. By walking/running there and back, you will add 1 mile!
Many of our runners enjoy adding on mileage before or after the run -- feel free to grab a friend and do a few laps around Bushnell Park.
-
Yes! Red Rock Tavern donates free dinner to all walkers and runners every Tuesday. They do it out of the kindness of their hearts to support our community.
-
The menu changes weekly and is served buffet style. Make a plate, find a seat and hang out with fellow 86G0 members. Chelsey, an Eight Six Go leader and our Red Rock liaison, will share the menu on Mondays in our Heylo chat. If you have dietary allergies/restrictions please message Chelsey in Heylo BEFORE our Tuesday run. Red Rock will prepare a separate option if the buffet options cannot accommodate your diet. Drinks are not included. Head to the bar to purchase soft beverages, alcoholic drinks or any food off their menu if you want something different than the provided meal. Options are plentiful.
-
There’s always room for dessert! Head to Capital Ice Cream, located on the same block as Red Rock Tavern. Capital Ice Cream offers a special discount for runners on Tuesday nights.
